As a drifter you’re always trying to adapt your car to give you more steering lock and therefore more angle when you drift.  Not only will this impress the judges but it allows you to save a drift often when you go past what would normally be the point of no return….   Normal mods to aid this are Extended Tie Rods and Aftermarket Ends, Aftermarket Pilo Tension rods, and now more and more people are changing from OEM Knuckles to modified ones like these from Hey Man Products

A group of us decided to have a “mini drift matsuri”(Japanese for Festival) a couple of weeks ago.  Luke from Hashirya exports was in attendance in his orange JZX90 Chaser and he was accompanied by his parents who were visiting all the way from OZ.  JC came down in his R32 from Sendai to join us, the locals, Stuart, Ems and myself.  It was a good days drifting but what made it extra special is the fact we had a pro camera man – Pete Leong of PeteLeong Photography, along to shoot the action.  His artistic and effects shots are particularly cool – as you can now see for yourself!

The Summer Matsuri is 1 of 3 48 hour Drift festivals held here, on all courses, day and night.
We never really had much time to take pics, as we were too busy driving, so we left it to our friend and pro photographer Dino Dalle Carbonara was here covering the event for speedhunters. (Check out his Blog at the end of this post). Even though the weather kept giving us regular soakings, we still had fun, here’s our pics from the weekend.
