Back at the last round of D1 SL at Tsukuba there was a stand with a Dyno in the pits so Naoto Suenaga grabbed the chance to see what power his 2008 D1 SL Championship winning S13 Silvia was delivering to the wheels.
This is 2 of 2 Promo Videos Luke has made for his upcoming DVD – We are Drift. This one features lots of action from here at Ebisu, including clips from D1 Divisional, Matsuri and some footage of Daigo Saito and Kunnyz practicing before D1 on Minami. I know he has some even better footage for the DVD when its finally finished, lets hope that wont be too much longer! Love the quick clip of Suenaga with his “dont touch” comment (Referring to when he and i were driving for the video shot, as close as we dared!). If you like what you see then get over here, as this is all a usual day at the office for us!
Sometimes we actually venture out of our home at Ebisu and even check out some non drift action! We were kindly invited to Sugo Sportsland Circuit around 1 hour north to see our local friends at Racing Garage Fastest [RGF] at a track day there.
This is another customer who took the opportunity to come and try his hand at drifting a car here in Japan whilst visiting Japan. Roy Mackenzie, originally from Scotland but now working out of Malaysia, had previous track experience in his Tuned Vauxhall VX220, but had never tried drifting it (Well not atleast on purpose!).
Friend and customer Ben Lake sent us this snap of him posing withhis new GT3 Porsche Race car. The Ozzie based over in Europe just completed his 1st race in the car after making the transfer over from Bike racing and managed to get 1st in both races in his class and 5th overall. He informed us too that he was having a good go at the 680HP GT2 Twin Turbo Machines in the class above! Sounds like fun, but we will show you some “Real” racing when you visit Ebisu next month! I wonder how your Porker would take to wall rubbing at Minami???
Chris from the US Base sent us this little vid that they made up on there last pilgrimage to Ebisu. Lots of thrills and spills and some really unusual camera views, check it out.
A group of us decided to have a “mini drift matsuri”(Japanese for Festival) a couple of weeks ago. Luke from Hashirya exports was in attendance in his orange JZX90 Chaser and he was accompanied by his parents who were visiting all the way from OZ. JC came down in his R32 from Sendai to join us, the locals, Stuart, Ems and myself. It was a good days drifting but what made it extra special is the fact we had a pro camera man – Pete Leong of PeteLeong Photography, along to shoot the action. His artistic and effects shots are particularly cool – as you can now see for yourself!
A group of Drifters were here for a couple of days from the one of the US Military bases here in Japan. When we saw them they were having fun on the togue track, and here pictured on the School Course.
