G1 GP Press ReleasePosted by Ems in News, tags: Drift Heaven Week, Drift Matsuri, ebisu, G1GP, powervehicles, team orange
G1GP International Drift Open Competition Series in Ebisu circuit, Japan. Press Release We at powervehicles.com along with our partners Team Orange and Ebisu circuit, have launched a new 3 round drift series starting April 2010. The event will take place on each Friday before the tri-annual 36 hour non-stop drift Matsuri’s (Festivals). This will be part of a complete package called “Drift Heaven Weeks“, which starts the week leading up to the Matsuri weekend, Kicking of with Practice Days Mon-Wed allowing you to set your car up and familiarise yourself with the many tracks. On the Thursday, a Drift Master class will be hosted by Team Orange D1 Drivers Nobushige Kumakubo and Naoto Suenaga. On Friday we will hold the G1GP foreigner only competition with trackside winners party afterwards with Team Orange and the week will then climax with the famous drift matsuri. Every Drifter, from every country has to experience the 36 hour non stop Matsuri’s once in their life and with cars available to buy at the track at very reasonable costs (from a basic drift car, all the way up to a d1 machine) there really is no excuse not to make the “pilgrimage” to Ebisu! Some customers are already planning on sending their own machines from overseas to Japan just for these events and also so they can compete on D1 and D1SL events. The G1GP is a truly international competition open to drivers from all countries and top names from Australia, France, Ireland, UK, NZ, Russia and Holland to name a few are already planning their trips this year. The competition welcomes drivers of any level, however expect the last 16 battles to be fiercely fought, as each driver will be pushing hard to win the Title, and prove their country to have the best drivers. The competition will be organised and judged by the famous D1 drift stars Team Orange and Low to Medium spec cars will be used by all drivers this year to keep the competition inline, but with plans of expansion to a Pro-class for the best cars and drivers in the near future this is definitely a series to watch! Various online and international magazines and Japan’s video option will be covering the event. If you want more info for your publication, freelance coverage can be supplied on request. More information can be found at www.powervehicles.com/driftlife
These guys know how to cruise up to Ebisu in Style! What better way to eat up the motorway KMS from Tokyo than in a 650hp Bentley! Fintan. Michael, & Colm (Originally from Ireland but now all Expats living in Tokyo) came up to try their hand at drifting our Rental Sil80 and had a ball of a time
Spring has definitely sprung at Ebisu Circuit. After it’s winter closure, the Touge Course has been cleared of all stones and winter debris and is now open and ready for a seasons action!
Here at Ebisu Circuit Team Orange don’t do things by half…. When the D1 Corporation requested 2 convertibles for the upcoming D1 Weekend at Odaiba the guys had a dilemma. They had their famous S13 Convertible but the only other suitable car they had was a regular RPS13 180Sx….. Time for a roof chop!

My S14 in Banzai MagazinePosted by Ems in Feature Cars, tags: "Pinkie", Banzai, ems, s14
My S14 had it’s first magazine feature in this month’s UK Banzai Magazine. The static shots were actually taken months ago when editor Joe was over for Tokyo Auto Salon at the beginning of this year and it’s taken me all this time to write the article! The photos have come out really well and I was really pleased with the end result as the pink body can be a hard colour to capture. Thanks to Joe for the great feature…even if he did get my name wrong!! Read the rest of this entry »

The long awaited round 4 of D1 Divisional East Series at Minami Circuit finally arrived. We have been waiting in anticipation for this round as Minami is now our home circuit and Andy was looking forward to gaining some more points to contribute towards a D1 Street Legal licence. 51 cars entered the event with very capable drivers, so the competition was to be fierce. |
