What’s this all about I hear you ask?  Well it was last Sunday…..

and we all descended on the Drift land course for a quick practice session in our well used “Practice” cars.

Stu from Drift in Japan joined us locals (Myself, Emily, Suenaga and Sumika) all together with special Guest star 2007 D1 Champion Masato Kawabata.  Kumakubo also appeared and Stuart kindly loaned him his A31 Cefiro.

Suenaga heads out in his Camo style NA S14, as usual grinning away under his helmet!

Kawabata tells us he has no idea where this sticker came from on his NA S13, or what the hell it means! Least said the better, lets move on.

Groups of 3 or 4 cars soon started to bunch up for some tsuiso practice

Everyone was getting real close

Until there was a coming together!

Suenaga here apologizing as his car went into the back of Stu’s Cefiro with Kumakubo at the wheel!

Stu could only watch as the carnage unfolded, as he was promoted to Driftlife cameraman for the day!

After we all stopped laughing about it, some “Ebisu body shop” repairs took place.  This is how to straighten an s14 fast!

Soon we were back at it

and the groups began to build in size

Here’s Sumika, Kumakubo, and Kawabata hard at play!

Soon the drift trains were 6 or 7 cars long

Great fun was had by all.

Me and Emily in this closing shot getting some tandem practice.

And here’s a quickly thrown together video of some of the action.  This track is a great place to learn the art of up-close drifting and frequent sessions such as these are one of the reasons for the high level of driving around Ebisu Circuit!
