OK, bring on the carnage!  Everyone was trying so hard at this comp to impress the Judges, BIG angle and high speed entry was order of the day followed by a nice big out line round the 1st corner.  This sounds great on paper but meant just about everyone at sometime spent time in Nikko’s infamous gravel trap.

This much angle means only one thing…..

….time for a trip to the gravel trap!

Here’s an example of how its done, the judges liked to see you with your back wheels down on the slope, so the result is you often lift your front wheel, making for some great snaps.

This guy seemed to have it back to front.

This 180 fronted S14 got it all wrong!

Is this just a “dirt drop” rather than a “course out”?

OK, my turn to get it wrong.  I had though when fitting this brand new front bumper that Nikko is famous for being a Aero destroyer of a track so I excluded my usual ground-hugging BN spoiler front Lip.  That was fortunate as it wouldn’t have lasted 2 mins….

This probably isn’t the right line….

This was my next lap, not as bad as the previous but again more “Course out” than “Dirt drop!

As more and more people did the same as me here, the rut became a massive gully meaning your front end was pointing skywards if you were unfortunate to find yourself in “the Nikko pit”!  Maybe they should have a little re-think about the run off area here?

This all made for great pics, but unknowingly to me these off road excursions had badly damaged my sump.  Lets hope my engine is still alive!

So that was my attempt at course out of the day but here’s the winner.  Watch this guys front winker fly!

Uh-oh!

There goes the light!

Ouch.

I’ll close with a shot of Alexi hanging off the track a little further round the circuit.  We have all scraped our muffler/aero on this armcove!  Ah, good old Nikko!
