Dyno Action at Tsukuba

Back at the last round of D1 SL at Tsukuba there was a stand with a Dyno in the pits so Naoto Suenaga grabbed the chance to see what power his 2008 D1 SL Championship winning S13 Silvia was delivering to the wheels.

Suenaga didn’t compete in D1SL in 2009 as he was concentrating on the D1 GP Series instead. He was attending the event to practice with the D1SL guys as everyone jumps at the chance to drift the challenging Tsukuba 2000 Circuit. Suenaga got his car dyno’d as the D1SL Finals took place a few meters away, but this seemed to get as much attention as the on track action. Dyno runs always seem to pull a good crowd and will be a common site for us soon as there’s one being installed right beside our home base within Ebisu! More on that in the coming months…. On the day a worried looking Suenaga (He looked like a expectant father waiting for the power result) was soon smiling when the car posted a heathy figure of 380ps at the wheels.

Next was Daigo Saito in his JZX100 Chaser. This is his No.2 car he uses in the D1 GP and everyone was expecting a high figure from this beast. It was minus a part it’s rear bumper as he’d lost it practicing for the D1 Exhibition battle, held here prior to the D1 SL Finals.

Daigo (2nd in from the right) waited patiently as they wound up the 2JZ full tune motor.

The result didnt disappoint, posting a massive 650+ps at the wheels. This means it has well over 700ps at the flywheel and I imagine this was without the help of NOS as this car is often quoted as having in excess of 800ps!
As we said, there will be lots of Dyno runs here at Ebisu soon, so expect to have lots of power run features on the BLOG in 2010!
