We have a new arrival here at Powervehicles.com….  and it’s a bit special!  We present the Area G D1 Project S15!

We’re now offering the car for export to someone who is serious about drifting!  The car spent the 2005-2008 seasons competing here in Japan in the D1 GP as well as D1 rounds in the States, but is now ready for a new permanent home overseas.

The car’s undergone a few facelifts over the season – it used to look like this back in 05. It looks stunning now I’m sure you will agree – the GP Sports wide body really suits the S15 Silvia.

The engine was rebuilt last year and since then it’s only done 4 events, including a display in China earlier this year.

The paintwork on this car is really cool and the detailing on the rear quarters as well as the “flip” paint is amazing.

The rear canards really set the car off.

The trunk, doors and bonnet are all FRP skinned with carbon, which all helps get the car’s weight down to a slim 1230kgs.

Sitting here on the main straight at Ebisu’sHigashi [East] Course, you can really appreciate the cars tough stance.

The cabin looks great too, it’s all been painted in custom paint including special felt-like paint on the dash and door trims.

The driver is kept snug in a Signal Auto full bucket seat and protected by the D1 spec custom Signal Auto cage.

The car’s wiring is all custom, getting rid of all unnecessary parts to save weight. Controls for essentials such as lights and wipers are moved to switches in the carbon centre console.  All standard gauges etc have been replaced by Defi items.

With power like this car posseses it needs a good supply of fuel.  This comes from the dual Bosch custom fuel setup.

More custom “Ekishow” paint adornes the engine room.  The 2.1 engine produces 492.2ps as you can see from this Dyno printout.

The body is fully spot welded.

The turbo is a large Trust TD06-25G, ideal for the high speed drifting that the D1 GP requires.

The trunk floor has been reworked, removing the spare wheel well.  As you would expect for a D1 car the suspension is all adjustable.  The custom exhaust sounds really sharp – nice and loud!

With this much power the stock S15 transmission would soon go into meltdown.  This car utilises a modified RB25 Mission that’s been fitted with a OS Cross mission kit.

The suspension is the popular GP Sports G-Masters.  The car was part of the Team Toyo Drift Team so you can understand the prescense of many GP Sports parts.

There’s lots of custom body strengthening, such as this front support bar.  Also there’s inner fender braces and foam filled side sills, all aiding to stiffen up the chassis.

The car comes with these lovely SSR Professor alloys.  The car was sponsored by SSR wheels and mainly used another model in D1 but I think it definitely suits these classics best!

This is the car shot a few weeks ago at it’s then homebase at Area G in Tokyo, before we picked it up.

Some pics of the car in action over the last few years driven by Minowa ShinG…..

So, think you need this car in your life?  Drop us a mail and we can talk business!

  1. Joey says:

Andy you were down near Yokota and didn’t come on base?

Area G is right down 16, about 10 minutes away from Yokota.

    That car is amazing…

  2. Andy says:

My Bad? Sorry was flat out that day. Our excursions down to Tokyo always seem to be on a crazy schedule! You guys got such cheap steak i hear too! Next time ;)

  3. Joey says:

Yeah next time you’re down here I’ll sign you and Em on so you can go to Chili’s or the Enlisted club.

Chili’s is a big sit down and eat restaurant chain in the states, it’s decent…

The Enlisted club would probably have the best steak on base.

  4. Andy says:

We will be down for that for sure!

  5. luke fink says:
