After being consistent all day, and qualifying 5th, i made an error leading to the crash in the last round of D1 Divisional here on the Minami Course .  Apologies to Masato-san (The driver of the AE86) for leaving him with no where to go!  I tried to remedy a poor entry with bags of throttle, but too much angle meant i came up short and ended up switching back across the track, collecting the AE86, and ending up in the foam barrier.  The damage is only cosmetic and the car will be ready for the final round in October.  This meant though i didn’t get a top 8 finish and i now need a lot of points from the last round to get a D1 SL License for next year….  oh well that’s racing!

Special Thanks to Luke who caught the crash (perfectly!) on tape as he was there filming for his upcoming DVD – We are Drift.  I could say i done it on purpose just for some good footage…..  but I’d be lying!

Minus the last incident you are absolutely killing it! Wall rubbing and huge smokes FTW!!

Fair play, you were 100% on it! That first qualifying run looked savage. Shame about the damage, but the picture made it look worse than the video. I hope you get it sorted quick and get back out there! Best of luck next time

  3. Very interesting video. Tough call on whether you were to ‘blame’ for the ae86 running out of road, It doesn’t look like he had initiated drift yet, and had pretty hard lockup when starting to avoid. Then again I wasn’t there!

You were drifting very well, certainly don’t be discouraged and keep up the good work!
