The Summer Matsuri is 1 of 3 48 hour Drift festivals held here, on all courses, day and night.
We never really had much time to take pics, as we were too busy driving, so we left it to our friend and pro photographer Dino Dalle Carbonara was here covering the event for speedhunters. (Check out his Blog at the end of this post). Even though the weather kept giving us regular soakings, we still had fun, here’s our pics from the weekend.

The rain did let off for some periods on Saturday, but the low level clouds meant that the North course was almost completely shrouded with a heavy layer of mist, which made drifting….erm interesting lets say!

This was probably our favourite car of the Matsuri.  This wide super-wide fendered C33 Laurel.

It contained an RB26 GT-R motor.

The Weds Kranz rims had outrageous dish!

On the Sunday, we teamed up with Suenaga to do some filming for Luke Huxham’s forthcoming DVD – We are drift on the Nishi Drift course.  This still was taken from some of the great footage we got, and shows how close Suenaga  likes to chase!  But as always, in his words “No touch”, his practice cars “Not Missile!”

The aftermath….after 2 days of hard drifting, these Ozzie visitors didn’t leave much life left in their cars….  This is the same 180SX pictured at the top of the page 48hrs on!

Some cars had to be bumped out of the circuit using the ones that were still running.

Australian Drifter Luke Fink bumps one of his mates out the circuit.  The Autumn Matsuri is 14&15 of November, lets hope for some cool clear weather!
