D1 GP Round 5 in Ebisu started with qualifying to get into the last 16 Tsuiso battles.  Competition for the spaces was tight and some notable big names such as Koguchi, Kunny’z, Orido (Pictured above) and Nakamura never made the cut.  Apart from one short spell, the weather stayed dry so everyone was going at full tilt to try and impress the judges.

The Fluke 180SX gave the wall a tap, you can see the damage to the BN Sports Bumper on the back-right corner.

Inose in the T78 Powered Friends Racing S15 silvia made it through with his qualifying pass. 

Weld’s stunning 800PS+ Mark II never made the cut for Round 5 but will try again for Round 6 on Sunday.

Kuroi made it through with his usual application of loads of brute power!

Masao Suenaga also made it through

Sakuma, in the old championship winning car of Kawabata’s, never made the top 16.

Nor did the HPI S15

Nakamura was awesome here in D1sL a couple of months back but never made it through to the top 16 today.

Drift Samurai smoked his way through to the last 16

Team Oranges Tanaka progressed through to the Tsuiso battles too

Maeda was trying hard later on in the day in the last chance qualifying for the Sunday round.
